It’s time for…. a NOTD post!
Fall is almost here in 20 something days and, of course, we need a neon coloured nail art to complete the season before welcoming the warm brown, orange season!
When it comes to neon colours, I really like to use black as an accent colour. The black brings out the brightness of the colour and it also makes a really nice defined contrast between both shades.
For this nail art, I wanted to do something minimalist to give more attention to the neon yellow polish. Instead of using an intense black to create the lining, I used a deep charcoal grey colour and some white stripes tape to soften the look but at the same time still creates a nice contrast.
On all of the nails, the placement of the tapes is different to create a random pattern because I prefer them to be different than uniform in nail arts. The only thing that repeats itself is the negative space in the form of a chiffon arrow on the tip of the nail. I first used 2 pieces of striping tape to create the arrow and used a white polish as a base. The white will bring out the neon colour later. I then used 2-3 coats of the neon colour. As I prefer, I placed the striping tape for the design. Lastly, I sealed everything with a top coat.
For this nail art I used a lime neon yellow by China Glaze but you can use any other neon colour and still look gorgeous for summer!
Enjoy the 20ish days left before it’s officially Fall! Can’t wait to start to wear scarves and have a pumpkin spice latte! ❤
Last year I also created another lime green neon nail art. This one is more artsy with all the doodle-like pattern! Let me know which one you like the most and why! 😀
Polished used: Sally Hansen’s “White On”; China Glaze’s “Trip Of A Lime Time”
