You know that little voice in your head that tells you to check a makeup company’s website “just in case they have something nice on sale”? Well, my little voice never shuts up and as a result, I am pretty much always on a makeup website browsing items I don’t even need! And of course, that little voice tells me to buy it “because I deserve it“. Sounds familiar?
So recently, I purchased a few items from MAC because there were some limited edition eye pencils that I love and wanted to get before they were gone for good. I also found a fantastic lipstick kit and I ended up receiving a free lipstick so I am pretty happy with my haul!
From the sale section, I bought:
- Pro Longwear Waterproof Colour Stick in “Royally Blue” ($15.60, regular price $26)
- Pro Longwear Waterproof Colour Stick in “Sweet Viola” ($15.60, regular price $26)
Now if you are not familiar with these, they are extremely pigmented, longwear and yes, very waterproof colour sticks that can be used as eye pencils or as an eyeshadow (worn alone or as a base). You can also use this in the waterline for a super creative look. I personally love wearing them under my eyes for a pop of colour. You can still buy these items here.
I also got my paws on a fantastic lipstick kit:
- MAC valuables lip kit #3 ($47.50, online exclusive, $92 value), which includes a Pro Longwear Lip Pencil in “Rebellious”, a Velvetease Lip Pencil in “Reddy To Go”, a Huggable Lipcolour in “Rich Marron”, and a Versicolour Stain in “Preserving Passion”. You get so much for your money!! Everything in this kit is great, but I like the stain a bit less: I am not sure I like the glossy texture at the beginning and it fades in an uneven way, leaving my lips looking like I ate popsicles all day. Not so cute on a grown-up! The huggable lipcolour is very comfortable on the lips, but the brown is not my favourite shade: I might give it to my mother or wear it in the fall.
There are 3 different shades for this kit, which you can get here. I loved this kit so much that I bought the nude one 2 weeks later. #sorrynotsorry wallet!
Also, at the time I placed my order, there was a promotion going on: with the purchase of 2 lip products, you could choose a free lipstick from 6 selected shades. In addition to my lipstick kit, I bought “Brave” (a satin lipstick, $21), a beautiful pink that I think looks good on any skin tone, and I picked “Lured In” (an amplified lipstick) as my free lipstick. Purple ombré lips here I coooome!!
I also got to choose a free sample with my order, and I picked a mini-sized Cleanse Off Oil (6mL) which magically removes any makeup, even waterproof. Shipping was super fast (it took 2 days) but the only thing I do not like is that MAC doesn’t require a signature when the package is delivered, so FedEx just left it at my door, on a steaming hot summer day… Not good for my precious makeup!
Overall, I am super happy with my purchases! I cannot wait to play around with all this new makeup! Any items that you have already tried and love?
