I have been doing face masks at least twice a week lately, in an effort to use up my stock, but also because, why not? I love pampering my skin in the wintertime!
Winter is the official season of self-care in my book and I think everyone’s skin needs a little more TLC in the winter – at least here in Canada because our winters are super cold aka devastating for the skin.
I have recently tried Fresh’s Crème Ancienne Ultimate Nourishing Honey Mask for the first time and I just had to review this product (hint: I LOVE IT). I received a deluxe sample a while back and thought it looked too fancy to use right away. And I was right: a full size of the masks is C$172.00!! It will be a while before I decide to splurge on such expensive skincare 😦
Last week, with the stress levels reaching a high, I decided it was time to indulge in this sugary mask. Also, because it says it is nourishing, I thought it would be best to use it up while the weather is still cold and harsh.
First thing I noticed is the amazing smell: it smells sweet and delicious, I almost want to eat this! The appearance and the smell of the product remind me of caramel or maple spread, and I just want to lather this all over my face!! Which I did 😉
This mask “is a one-of-a-kind hydrating treatment made with pure honey for a unique texture that instantly melts into the skin, delivering 6 hours of supreme nourishment while improving elasticity”. I was very surprised by the “unique texture” which is very thick and grainy, almost like an exfoliant which is not common for a mask.
The product does melt slightly on the face but the texture remains quite sugary. I took advantage of that and used the product to exfoliate my skin before leaving it on for 8-10 min. Once again, that smeeeell ❤
The mask claims to help not only with dryness but also with the loss of firmness and elasticity, as well as fine lines and wrinkles. I can’t tell if this worked for me, but I noticed that my skin was a LOT more hydrated after just one use. My skin was soft and felt great.
The product contains antioxidant echinacea, which “helps to improve the skin’s resilience to environmental aggressors and promote a radiant glow” according to Sephora. Really, this mask is a serious multitasker!!
At first glance, I thought the deluxe sample was small and would be finished after 2 masks, but turns out a little goes a long way with this product! Small but mighty 😉
Because this mask is super hydrating and also because of the “exfoliating” secret, I would totally recommend this mask, especially for people with dry skin. I may break the bank and buy the full size for next winter because the mask smells amazing and is truly efficient. So far, I was never disappointed with Fresh!!
