About Beat Around the Blush

Beat Around the Blush was founded in November 2017 after I completely rebranded a blog I had been running since 2015. Here, you will mostly find makeup looks, skincare tips, and hopefully content that will inspire you.

My goal through this blog is to empower women by teaching them self-care and self-love tips.

I wish to use my background as a certified makeup artist and a media professional to gather a community of strong, fearless women who believe that makeup and skincare are part of a self-love journey. Taking time for yourself is never selfish. Wanting to feel good and look good is never selfish.

I want to teach women all over the world that makeup is a beautiful form of art and self-expression. Makeup and skincare are fun and should be used as a mood-booster, as a way to gain confidence, and as a way to make friends who share this passion with us.

My name is Marika. I was born in Montreal, a very diverse city with a little bit of everything for everyone, and I grew up surrounded by people from different backgrounds. This has certainly shaped my open-mindedness and general outlook on life. My philosophy, in brief, is that:
