Jonathan Garnier x Maxi dishes put to the test
I had the chance to taste several of the dishes prepared in this wonderful collaboration between Jonathan Garnier and Maxi. Here is a little overview of the products offered as well as my favourites!
The 3 cheese macaroni with green peas ($7.50) was a quick and tasty lunch for me on a busy Tuesday lunchtime when I had to respond to a few emails before heading off to a meeting. The dish was tasty, I liked the little touch of green peas and the pasta had a nice texture, as if it hadn’t been frozen at all!
The tuna or salmon cubes are super practical for preparing a more “fancy” meal like a tartare, sushi or a poke bowl that is as colourful as it is nutritious. At $10 a tube, it’s well worth the treat!
The family-style meat lasagna ($15) was creamy and rich in flavour. A must-have that will please everyone, even the young, picky eaters! It’s a safe bet.
The mashed potatoes are perfectly soft as if they had just been cooked, it’s surprising! It pairs perfectly with beef bourguignon or any other dish with sauce, such comforting fall classics.
My favourites: pastrami smoked salmon, beef bourguignon, smoked coho salmon log with dried cranberries, chicken meatballs with tomato and basil sauce, gourmet raspberry and lemon log (the chocolate and caramel one is delicious too, yum!).
Jonathan Garnier prepared meals at Maxi are tasty and economical products to discover to make your daily life easier!
