In an effort to use greener products that are kinder to both my skin and the planet, I am always on the hunt for the next eco-friendly cosmetics brand. When Scentuals, a Canadian, cruelty-free, organic and natural skin care brand, reached out to see if I wanted to try their products, I simply had to say yes!! 

About the brand

Scentuals create top quality skin care products that are toxin-free and cruelty-free. Their mission is to share healthier and safer alternatives to as many people as possible because toxins that are found in everyday products can affect negatively our health.

Each product is handmade in small batches to respect the highest standards and everything is formulated with sensitive skin in mind. Yay! This skincare line provides a healthy, non-toxic alternative to harsh chemical ingredients through a large variety of products ranging from essential oils to deodorants.

The natural skin care products I tried

Orange Geranium exfoliating handmade soap.

The soap contains olive oil and pure essential oils that relieve stress, fight depression and help you find balance. Talk about a superpower for a soap! It nourishes and softens the skin while smelling absolutely divine. A must!

Rosehip beauty oil.

This beauty oil is 100% natural and has natural skin rejuvenating and moisturizing properties. Rosehip oil is famous for its anti-aging and hydrating properties, and this product does just that – and more. This is a non-greasy, lightweight moisturizer that I love applying at night before bed to reveal a glowy, hydrated skin in the morning. The only minor downside is the smell: it smells… like oil! Not roses. 🙁

Grapefruit turmeric hand repair cream.

A nice, thick hand cream containing shea butter, cocoa butter and organic aloe to hydrate, nourish and protect the skin. It penetrates rapidly into your dry hands and has the perfect texture: not too thick, not too liquid. It smells amazing and leaves my hand feeling so nourished and hydrated. My new favourite hand cream for sure!

Vanilla tangerine moisturizing hand & body lotion.

This perfect body lotion softens skin with natural and nourishing ingredients. It contains organic argan oil to smoothe and firm skin, organic aloe juice to repair and renew cells, as well as organic olive oil to give you a healthy glow. The smell is absolutely divine: sweet, but not too much.

Roll-on essential oils to balance & to de-stress.

One is a “soothing blend of 100% pure essential oils to help bring emotional balance” while the other is a “calming blend of 100% pure essential oils to help relieve tension and stress”. I had never used essential oils in this way before but I LOVE it!! For a whole week, I swapped perfume for these oils and I felt so great. It made me feel more connected to the present moment and to my emotions as well.

100% natural lip conditioner in Peppermint Twist & Vanilla Tangerine.

Enriched with organic shea butter, these balms have the perfect texture! Not too dry, not too oily, they perfectly hydrate my lips. The vanilla tangerine one is my favourite!

The verdict

Overall, I am absolutely in love with my Scentuals natural skin care products: they work so well, smell great and it feels amazing to use products that are good for me and my precious health! I am particularly obsessed with the body lotion, the hand cream and the soap.

I definitely recommend this Canadian brand and am already excited to repurchase from them in the future! Thank you Scentuals for gifting me these lovely products!
