I am one of those girls who was BORN with dark circles, I swear. When I was a young teenager, it was a real concern for me, and I kept getting the “oh, you look so tired, are you ok?” even though I slept 10-12 hours daily at the time. Being an insomniac, I never really get a good night’s sleep. Thankfully, I found the Nars Soft Matte Concealer.

Finding the perfect concealer

Finding the perfect concealer, coverage-wise and colour-wise has always been a struggle for me, but those days are long gone!! I thought I had found the best concealer in MAC’s Studio Conceal and Correct Palette, where I would mix the shades NW20 with MidPeach to get a colour that’s peachy enough to cover the darkness, yet light enough to match my pale skin. However, I got tired of always having to mix my custom-made concealer and wanted to try something different.

I heard so many good things about Nars’ Radiant Creamy Concealer and just when I decided to buy it, Nars came out with the Soft Matte Complete Concealer, which is said to have better coverage! I bought it in the shade “Crème Brulée” also called “light 2.5”. It has a peach undertone, rather than a yellow undertone, which perfectly fits me and is best for covering darkness (peach covers purple dark circles while yellow will cover reddish dark circles).

Nars Soft Matte concealer

As you can tell based on the picture above, the coverage is great. And I mean, really really great. I am also very surprised that this concealer does not crease, and I have lines under my lower lashline that make every product crease in minutes. I never have to set this concealer with powder and it does. not. budge.

Also, a little goes a LONG way. The jar is super convenient because you only grab the amount you need. There is ZERO waste compared to the other Nars concealer in a tube. This concealer will last way longer too.

And here’s the final look. No more dark circles AT ALL! So I’m a happy girl!

Overall, I think this product is magic in a jar, and it was made for girls like me with the darkest circles. I highly recommend it to anyone who has the same issue and despite the product being a little expensive (CAD$39), it is totally worth the price.
