Every once in a while, it’s great to get a new haircut, to try a completely different style. I’ve been wanting to change my hairstyle for quite some time now, but I can never figure out what I want… I tend to fall in love with complex haircuts that require a lot of maintenance but I really don’t have the time or the patience for that. I am VERY low maintenance when it comes to my hair!
So whenever I go to see my hairstylist and hope to get a new haircut, I always end up asking for a cut that I won’t need to style every morning and that will look good with very little maintenance. Boring. Nonetheless, I always end up with a cut that I love, but I just wish I would dare something a tiny bit edgier.
Inspiration : Kelly Osbourne
That was until I stumbled upon this picture of Kelly Osbourne, from around 2014 I believe.
It was love at first sight! I mean… The cut, the colour, the makeup : everything is perfect! I automatically imagined myself with this hairstyle and even the colour (remember I used to have purple hair?). I thought this would probably remain just a dream because I wasn’t sure if this would suit my face shape and lifestyle. But hey, a girl can dream, right? Update: I now have purple hair, yay!
Chop chop time!
I had been eyeing this picture for years now, and last spring, I decided to talk to my hairstylist about it. She recommended I try this new haircut in the fall, simply because bangs can be very annoying in the summer. So I listened to her advice and waited patiently. Until last week 🙂 I wasn’t sure I would dare to cut my bangs, simply because I’ve never had them in twenty-something years of existence. But I did it, thanks to my hairstylist who gave me amazing advice, once again!
The results
And here is how it looks after I washed it and tried to blow dry it!
It even looks pretty cute with my hair pulled back!
Life after bangs
I was so scared to wash and dry my hair for the first time after cutting my bangs… But everything turned out ok! However, I did learn a few things…
- You cannot wash your face whenever you want, or you risk ruining your bangs
- Your bangs will become more rapidly oily than the rest of your hair
- You don’t need to wear foundation on your forehead anymore, yay!
- Applying a sheet mask requires a little planning ahead
- The wind is your new enemy
I am SO in love with my new haircut, I think I’ve finally found the perfect style that defines me! I can’t stop staring at my reflection whenever I see a window or a mirror! What do you think of this cut?

SO FREAKING DAMN PRETTY GIRL 😀
Love you xx
Ohh merci Rosie!!! J’espère que tu feras la même coupe bientôt, ça t’irait parfaitement aussi! Merci d’être une lectrice fidèle 😉 -xox-
Omg girl what?! Bangs are so you!! They suit you so well!!! The haircut is so super cute and it looks spunky. I have had bangs many times in my lifetime so far and i can attest to the facts you mentioned on life after bangs. Lol
Aww thank you so much!! <3 I'm so glad you relate to the facts I wrote, happy to know I'm not the only one ;) -xox-
No problem!! You’re totally making me want bangs but with my wavy nearly curly and frizzy hair I know I’ll regret it almost immediately lol. Have a great week!
Oh I understand that :/ But you could still try it! I have friends with curly hair and bangs and it looks gorgeous, it just takes a little longer to dry your hair 🙂 Have a lovely week too, thanks for stopping by! <3
