As soon as Rihanna launched her makeup line Fenty Beauty a year ago, the beauty community has been obsessed. Rihanna’s line has not only been praised for its wide range of colours, but also for its high quality and affordable prices. I wanted to try her brand for the longest time, so I am very happy to finally have a Fenty Beauty gloss & highlight set review to share with you this week 🙂

For my birthday, my BFF gifted me the adorable Bomb Baby Mini Lip and Face Set! :O Such a fabulous gift and a sweet, sweet gesture! It was also my first time trying Rihanna’s brand so I was excited.

The set includes a mini Gloss Bomb in Fenty Glow and a mini Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter in Hu$tla Baby. Read below for my detailed review of both products 🙂

Fenty Beauty Gloss & Highlight Set Review: The Gloss

First of all, we need to take a moment to appreciate the gorgeous packaging. I am in love with the geometric shapes, the shimmery finish, and the subtle yet remarkable branding. The mini sizes are also just too cute!

 

The Gloss Bomb in the shade Fenty Glow is said to be a universal shade, which is a central concept in Fenty Beauty’s brand image and philosophy. The first thing I noticed is the large applicator, which makes it easy to apply in just one swipe. The smell is sweet and not overpowering, which is very nice.

When applied, the gloss is non-sticky, has a very natural-looking colour, and is absolutely dazzling thanks to the golden glitters it contains. Oh, and did I say it melts like butter on your lips?

 

This gloss is absolutely high shine, is perfect for any occasion, and is, dare I say, the BOMB. Take it from a chick who usually doesn’t like lip gloss! 😉

Fenty Beauty Gloss & Highlight Set Review: The Highlight

At first glance, I didn’t think the highlight would suit my skin tone, because it’s very peachy-gold and I have a cool undertone, but gosh was I wrong: it looks fa-bu-lous!

 

Not only is the Killawatt highlight in Hu$tla Baby an absolute stunner, but it has even become my go-to during the summer! It is not quite gold, and not quite peachy, but the perfect combination of both shades. It is VERY shimmery, which I love.

This highlight is a major STUNNER and you can’t go wrong with that shade. It looks fabulous on all skin tones, especially if you have a golden undertone. It also looks magnificent as an eyeshadow.

 

Makeup Look Using Only Fenty Beauty Products

For this look, I used exclusively Fenty Beauty products, from the primer to the foundation, and including the gloss and highlight that are reviewed in this post. I was lucky to get a deluxe sample of the foundation when it launched, and I was very excited to try it. It does have a medium coverage, looks very natural on the skin and has a nice matte-but-natural finish.

 

Can you see the highlight popping? And the gloss is so natural-looking, it’s the perfect every day essential!

 

For this makeup look, I wore Fenty Beauty’s Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Primer, Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation in shade 150, Killawatt Highlighter in Hu$tla Baby (on the cheekbones and on the eyelids), and the Gloss Bomb in Fenty Glow.

I think the Bomb Baby Mini Lip and Face Set is a perfect gift to offer to yourself or to a loved one! I am impressed with the quality of Fenty Beauty’s lipgloss and highlight, and I will certainly purchase other products from the brand.
