Tropical Makeup Look | Can it be Summer Already?!

summer makeup tropical blue turquoise

Spring is a funny season in Montreal. The weather is unpredictable and it can snow on any given day. It is still quite cold here, but I felt like creating a summer-inspired makeup look. I recently got a super cute Avon eyeshadow palette from a friend and was so drawn to the gorgeous blue shades in it. I felt inspired and created a tropical, blue makeup look with it. Also, how cute is the palette’s name, “Mojitos by the sea”?!

How to recreate this blue makeup look

Beaches and turquoise blue water inspired me to create this look. Can you tell that summer is on my mind? I went for a soft cut crease and in order to keep the focus on the poppin’ eyeshadows, I didn’t use eyeliner of false lashes. To recreate this look, you will need mainly 2 blue eyeshadows of slightly different hues.

I paired the blue eye makeup with a peachy lip and blush to make the eyes pop even more (peach and blue are complementary colours!). Because my skin is so pale in winter, I cheated with a little bronzer 😉

Avon Eyeshadow palette in Mojitos by the sea mini review

I am happily surprised by the quality of this palette! The eyeshadows blend easily and the pigmentation is decent. My only disappointment is that when I tried to press more eyeshadow on the lid, instead of adding pigment, it somehow faded instead… Nonetheless, this is a super cute eyeshadow palette and I will definitely rock my blue/turquoise look all summer long!! Now can it be summer already, please??

I love the gradient effect of light to dark.

I feel your pain about the cold weather, I’m in Edmonton Alberta and it’s supposed to be minus 30 tomorrow. BRRR!
